I don't know if you know the feeling but for me reading books while chilling on the beach and being on holiday gives me another type of reading experience! At one point I always get into reading crimes, but I also discovered "beach reads" to be a thing. And I love it! So this post concentrates on romance books that set you in the perfect summer vibe.
So if the book doesn't already scream "BEACH READ" from it's cover, here are some of my top picks for this summer reads... (the rating doesn't refer to actual ratings, just random order)
Beach Read by Emily Henry
Summary: A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut engage in a summer-long challengege that may just upend everything they believe about happily ever afters. Augustus Everett and January Andrews are polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they're living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer's block. Until one hazy evening they strike a deal: Augustus will spend the summer writing something happy, and January will pen the next Great American Novel. Everyone will finish a book and no-one will fall in love. Really. (Goodreads)

2. Wildfire (Maple Hills #2) by Hannah Grace
Summary: When Russ and Aurora cross paths at a university party, a drinking game ends with them spending the night together. The next day, Aurora slips away before Russ learns her full name. This anonymity ends when they both turn up to their first day of work as camp counsellors. A job they had both chosen to escape Maple Hills for the summer.
Given their history, there’s still an obvious tension between the two but the camp has a strict “no staff fraternizing” rule. Russ doesn’t want to risk heading home early but Aurora has never been one for rules.
As things heat up, they'll have to resist or risk starting something they just can’t stop. (Source: Thalia)

3. Happy Place by Emily Henry
Summary: Two exes. One pact.
Could this holiday change everything? Harrietarriet and Wyn are the perfect couple - they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
Every year, they take a holiday from their lives to drink far too much wine with their favourite people in the world.
Except this year, they are lying through their teeth, because Harriet and Wyn broke up six months ago. And they still haven't told anyone.
But the cottage is for sale so this is the last time they'll all be here together. They can't bear to break their best friends' hearts so they'll fake it for one more week.
But how can you pretend to be in love - and get away with it - in front of the people who know you best? (Source: Thalia)

4. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
Summary: One girl. Two boys. And the summer that changed everything . . .
Every year Isabel spends a perfect summer at her favourite place in the world - the Fisher family's beach house. It has everything a girl could want: a swimming pool, a private stretch of sandy beach... and two (very cute) boys:
Unavailable, aloof Conrad - who she's been in love with forever
Friendly, relaxed Jeremiah- the only one who's ever really paid her any attention.
But this year something is different. This year, the boys seem to really notice Isabel for the first time. It's going to be an amazing summer - and one she'll never forget . . . (Source: Thalia)

5. The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
Summary: Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam 'West' Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she'd signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways.
Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance. There's just one catch.
Due to an antiquated clause in his grandfather's will, Liam won't see a penny until he's been happily married for five years. Just when Liam thinks he's in the home stretch, pressure mounts from his family to see this mysterious spouse, and he has no choice but to turn to the one person he's afraid to introduce to his one-percenter parents - his unpolished, not-so-ex-wife.
But in the presence of his family, Liam's fears quickly shift from whether the feisty, foul-mouthed, paint-splattered Anna can play the part to whether the toxic world of wealth will corrupt someone as pure of heart as his surprisingly grounded and loyal wife. Liam will have to ask himself if the price tag on his flimsy cover story is worth losing true love that sprouted from a lie. (Source: Thalia)
