Our Book of the month in July was chosen because of it's popularity in the book club I attended! If you want to take a first guess, the book we are talking about deals with the world of the rich at a time when even stricter social rules prevailed than is perhaps the case today. And these rules affect one woman in an even harder way. The woman we are talking about is called: Evelyn Hugo!❤️
So our book of the month is......
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I strongly assume that most of you already know what this book is about, but for some who may have never heard of this stunning book so far or to give you a quick refresher, here is a summary of the book:
SUMMARY
Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?
Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.
Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways. 2017 the book got nominated by Goodreads Choice Award for the category best historical fiction!
So why is this novel so popular? I read it in October 2023 and it took me 4 days to finish it. And all I can say about this book is that you have have have to read it if you are looking for a profound story that leaves you wiser than before and convinces you to be a true story, even though it's not. My thoughts after finishing it: "It is not possible that this did not happen and that Evelyn Hugo does not exist, although she definitely exists in my heart🥲"
That's actually what I am searching for a book, it leaves such a big effect on your thoughts right after finishing it and you can't stop but rethink the story and the characters for some days.
And that's why I rated it with 5 stars:

never read a book by taylor jenkins reid, but i guess you just convinced me to pick this one up! :)
I also really really loved "The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo", my first and favorite book by Taylor Jenkins Reid! Also liked "Daisy Jones & The Six" a lot, it's incredible to me how TJR can create these stories and make them seem so real (and even connect them with small character re-appearences).
